What are Trade Schools?

Career colleges go by many names including trade schools, vocational schools, correspondence schools, and career and technical education (CTE). They are specialized schools that train students for skill-based careers. The programs within these schools have a wide range of time required to complete the program ranging anywhere from 10 months to 4 years. A certificate or associates degree is granted upon completion.
- Career schools may be public or private
- Private career schools can be for profit (proprietary) or not for profit

Career clusters are an organizational method used to identify careers and skills related to a specific category. Each career cluster has similar skills and education requirements needed to pursue the career pathways within that cluster. There is an abundance of career pathways within each cluster.
