Service Academies provide an opportunity for students to combine academic and military life. Service Academies are among some of the hardest schools in the country to get into. They are extremely competitive and require all applicants to be exceptionally well rounded academically, physically, in leadership, and in their extra curricular activities. The selection process is so competitive because students are fighting for an expense paid, totally FREE education. Service academies provide free education to its students in return for a commitment to serve as an officer in the military upon graduation.
